But I think you're after an important thing: an internal experience of "feeling' and 'letting happen.' You've made me rethink this word....whether it's right or not, your concept is spot on.

- Kindness/politeness: This is Burroughs' Johnson code — mind your own fucking business but don't be a douche. I think the important thing here is one doesn't have to care about the other's flows. Indifference is a component, although not sufficient.

- I fucking love that slogan! Holy shit! So nice. Of course, it all makes me think of 68 and all that poetry and enthusiasm (of course, I wasn't born yet).

As for books, hmn....I think we probably known the same ones -- de Certeau, Guattari, Vaneigem. The things that I've been digging the past few years are the early Zen folks, Lao Tzu and Chuang Tzu, who speak in a very different register but are no less revolutionary. In fact, perhaps even more so for NOT being revolutionary. And Houellebecq, who speaks in the oddest register of them all, perhaps.

I think the question of tone is important. How to strike a new tone? Or at least how to avoid the same old didactic, strident, earnest tones? I think humor is so important, along with irony and self-deprecation.

This is a great project. You've incited me to think these things anew.
Daniel Coffeenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03912050391869734890noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7461948747659071092.post-33068788957111010842015-12-15T03:45:05.391-08:002015-12-15T03:45:05.391-08:00A Society of Individuals is exactly what I have in...A Society of Individuals is exactly what I have in mind. A society consisting not only of people, but also of all kinds of singularities, of ideas, of flows, of oceans, of animals, of pebbles, and so on.

I've been thinking about sincerity as a philosophical concept, sincerity in the sense of being schizophrenic but not catatonic, feeling your own desiring-machines flow and letting them flow as long as they are active flows - well, reactive flows don't actually exist of course. It also needs some other concept, something like kindness, or politeness which would correspond to a respectful attitude for others' flows and letting them flow as long as those flows are not reactive flows - again, in the sense of blocking the already active flows.

Yes, of course I am sure we are talking about the same thing. We need to elaborate on this, since we, the ones without an identity, or the ones with an ever-changing identity, suffer the most from all this violence and stupidity of the world. And actually, you know Gezi happened here, and it happened mostly relying on the powers of such individuals, that is the transformative powers of humor, poetry, fiction and philosophy. There were many beautiful slogans written everywhere, one of which comes to my mind now: "You didn't need to use tear gas on us, we were already sentimental kids..."
Isn't this beautiful?

My hope is to write something to cover all this as I see almost all the people who define themselves as leftists - at least here - are still too preoccupied with their own fixed identities and this very mode of operation makes us victims. Active powers should have a voice too. I know they have many voices actually, Nietzsche or Deleuze and Guattari to name a few. But at least here in Turkey, I feel that even the people who read them don't really get what's at stake. I feel the urgency to do something about it. I will write and send it to you first and foremost. Until then, I am sure there are books and resources I am not aware of but could empower our arguments. I have already read everything on your reading list, but I would like some more if you have any other recommendations.

Thank you for flowing the way you do... ayşegülhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08773508991432654626noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7461948747659071092.post-21557767686528020072015-12-14T18:23:38.089-08:002015-12-14T18:23:38.089-08:00We've been in sync for years, across continent...We've been in sync for years, across continents and oceans. It makes me a bit giddy, riding this wacky wave of immanence with you.

I like this phrase —"all the active powers of life": beautiful. I want to read that manifesto. Write it! Write it! Please!

You know I wanted to create a Society of Individuals; I still kinda love that name. I think it's more or less in line with what you're imagining.

And, as always, I thank you for your kindness and support — always, always. It's so refreshing ...Ah thank you again Daniel. It's so refreshing to see you.
The other day, when I was talking about my hate of human social, they pointed out that what I am talking about is not the social but out of social kind of a thing. Then, I find myself saying, "if you define social like that, only as being relational, then my social is universe."
Something in me kindled there: if this is social, of course I have a society, a fundamental one which consists of all the active powers of life in the most Nietzschean sense. So, I decided to write a manifesto for my society as I see they don't have much voice. It will consist of many things but mainly poetry, humor, science fiction, philosophy and resistance. And I plan to write a foreword thanking all but especially you. You are one of the most important individuals of my society after all.
A manifesto for a future people... What do you think? I think that would be great if I can manage to write it properly. ayşegülhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08773508991432654626noreply@blogger.com
